If you could careless about the background information and want to know what I saw, scroll down to the “Ok, the good stuff… what did I see?” section highlighted in red.
How did we get here?
Instagram has become saturated with repetitive content. While it’s still enjoyable to follow your favorite creators, the dopamine hits to our brain are having less of an effect than before.
Part of the challenge with creating content on ‘trade data to play’ social media platforms is the cost of production falls squarely on the creators.
Monetization isn’t easy for creators with smaller followings and building a following costs money; therefore a lot of talent is left out of the spotlight.
Founded by British entrepreneur Timothy Stokely, 37, in 2016.
OnlyFans is a platform that helps to monetize the cottage industry of creators through fan supported monthly subscriptions and tips. The create keeps 80% of all money spent by fans, leaving the rest for Stokely who could be the next tech billionaire as a result of his platforms growing popularity.
The platform’s technology was designed to host any form of digital content; photography, writing, music and well… booty shaking.
Turns out OnlyFans may go the way of Craigslist as a platform that does a whole lot more, but best known for serving buns.
Granted, Craigslist ultimately got censored because it was a classified ads technology being used to sell sexual services in real life and for whatever reason Uncle Sam still doesn’t approve.
I don’t see that transition happening on OnlyFans, but the internet remains undefeated, if there is a will and a schmuck with money to blow, a way will be found.
My OnlyFans Experience
Is OnlyFans private? I had no intention of hiding my identity as I was there solely for professional research… pffft, I really wanted to see this persons content.
But if you have been itching to see your favorite Instagrammer’s more risqué posts incognito, then rest assured that you cannot be identified if you don’t want to.
Your credit card information remains within the OnlyFans paywall and is not released to the creator. This is the same way Uber drivers don’t see your credit card information.
When creating your OnlyFans profile, you can enter your name or leave the form blank because you are assigned an identifying number. The number is totally random and only a hacker or an OnlyFans employee could trace it back to you.
So long story short, if you want to be keep your identify private; you can. Trust me.
Do you need to download an app?
No, you access everything via OnlyFans.com. But you can’t randomly search profiles. You have to have the link of the person sharing the content. Not sure why the search feature isn’t included but I couldn’t find it.
Ok, the good stuff… what did I see?
If you were expecting photos sorry to dissapoint. You can’t screenshot or record OnlyFans content, the technology blocks your phone from doing it. In any case, I didn’t try because that would’t be cool.
But here is what I saw…
I started following an Instagrammer a few weeks ago for this story whose name I won’t share just yet because I am trying to schedule an interview with her, but she cranks out content multiple times a day.
Her Instgram content is one booty shaking video after another and despite there being a tremendous amount of similar content on IG, she really does a fine job of standing out from the crowd.
Her OnlyFans monthly subscription is $40 and included 96 posts, 10 photos and 69 videos.
Yes, they are all nude and some extremely graphic.
There really is no standardization on the type of content or length of videos, but one thing is for sure… it is 100% more than what you see on her IG account.
Think of IG as the appetizer, OnlyFans the main course and dessert can be had for extra dinero via private chat or personalized requests.
I was surprised to find out there was actually some hardcore porn mixed in there.
Was it worth it?
There are times when I have more money than I know what to do with, so on occasion I will just piss it away on things I don’t need.
So in this case, I am making a transaction that makes sense. Think of it as a digital gentleman’s club. You pay to enter and spend extra for more personalized service.
But you don’t have to pay extra if you don’t want to. I didn’t feel the need to pay for anything more than what I already had. I guess that is up to the creator to draw the money out of you, like I said… this is basically a digital gentleman’s club.
Now that you know, keep in mind that we are in the midst of a financial crisis and supporting your favorite OnlyFans page will probably do more for the creator than you, so go out and do good in the world!
