For long time fans of the Bastion Management Group restaurant, La Table and Marché; the wait is over as they reopened tonight after several months of Covid induced shut down.

The worry for many was that one of Uptown’s luxury dining staples would shutter like many other restaurants around Houston. However, instead of shutting down the team at La Table was reshuffling their menu and renovating their property to reopen as an upscale casual restaurant.

La Table was rebranded in 2015 from Table and prior to that Philippe Restaurant + Lounge. If you recall, Chef Philippe moved on to lead the food program at Toulouse Cafe and Bar located in Houston’s River Oaks District, a stint that lasted about 3 months.

La Table, unrelated to Chef Philippe, is now located in the downstairs area that used to be Marché. The new La Table features an expanded patio and an approachable menu. The upstairs area formerly known as La Table, is now a private dining space, Château, that can be reserved for special occasions.

On the new menu, Chef Stephen Conklin has added Texas favorites like a Black Angus burger, pork pate and RC Ranch sourced Steak Frites. This is an exciting time for the Uptown dining scene as the Fertitta family project, King Ranch Southern Kitchen, will be opening in the old Willie G’s location a few blocks down on Post Oak Blvd.

We welcome back the La Table family, especially their effervescent GM Valerio Lombardozzi; whose style and hospitality encapsulates the would and experience that made La Table a special dining destination in Houston.
