Last week at 5806 Star Lane, Body Drip, CRIM and Houston Cigar Life collaborated to bring electronic music back to Houston’s nightlife following the closure of Ways. The inaugural night was a success as over 170 music fans showed up and danced till 7 am.
The party could have gone longer, but our logistics were only planned until 7 am. This time, on Saturday March 12th starting at 11 pm, we are pushing the party to 10 am on Sunday March 13th. So if you plan on coming late, don’t worry, we won’t be turning on the lights any time soon, even though the sun will be out by the time you head home.
Shout out to every DJ who participated in last weeks line up because they threw one hell of a party that left every person who stopped by wanting more. This week we have a few DJ’s returning, but have added additional DJ’s to keep the sound dynamic and added two sound rooms (upstairs and the Dark Room).
The vision for our Electronic Afterhours is to find the best underground DJ’s and turn them loose without restriction. All that we ask of every DJ is to play electronic music only and keep it danceable, the rest is up to them.
Returning from last week are Csilla, Human Simulator of Body Drip, Malcolm Bravo from the Flat and Zad from Bauhaus.
New entries for this week are Post Modern Sleaze headlining downstairs along with Rola who is performing a B2B set with Csilla. Human Simulator was critical this week in booking new DJ’s as he introduced us to Post Modern Sleaze, Scarn, Zero and Horizon.
Horizon will be headlining the new Dark Room which is our third room offering minimalistic light stimulation in an otherwise totally dark environment.
Upstairs Malcolm Bravo will headline around 3:30 am after his set at the Flat.
Each Saturday we aim to offer a new up and coming DJ in Houston an opportunity to play in a live environment. Last week JPTR dropped a dope set and this week she introduced us to ASYI who is also a producer. Check out ASYI’s SoundCloud here: https://soundcloud.com/asyii
